Softball's Opening Day Canceled

Clearwater, Fla. - The East Carolina softball team's opening day games at the USF DeMarini Tournament against Illinois State and Florida Gulf Coast have been canceled due to heavy rains in the area.
The weather has also created changes to this weekend's remaining schedule. Saturday, the Pirates will play last year's national runner-up and preseason No. 3 team Florida at 12 p.m. before finishing the day against host South Florida at 5 p.m.
Sunday, ECU closes the event against 2009 Atlantic Coast Conference Champion and preseason No. 13 team Georgia Tech at 9 a.m. and Long Island at 11 a.m.
