KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -The East Carolina women's duo of Abby Bools and Amber Littman currently sit in a tie for fourth place after day one of the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic. The event is being held at the Cougar Point and Oak Point Golf Courses and includes 33 teams.
The Pirates, who currently sit in second place with a score of 290 (two-over par), got one-under par rounds from both Bools and Littman, while Ana Maria Puche carded an opening round of 73 and is tied for 16th place. Rounding out the roster is Colleen Estes (75/t32) and Amy Otteson (76/t42).
Augusta State holds a six shot lead over ECU after an impressive four-under par 284. Western Carolina is third with a 293, while Miami (Fla.) and East Tennessee State are in a tie for fourth with opening rounds of 296.
The Pirates played the first round at Cougar Point and will take on Oak Point in the second round on Monday. After the second round, the Top 20 teams will play Cougar Point for the tournament championship, while the remaining teams will play for the flight championship at Oak Point.
