GREENSBORO, N.C. - The last two entrants for the East Carolina track and field program in the NCAA East Regional fell short of their goal to qualify for the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
On Saturday, Brittany Copeland finished 33rd in the 5000-meter run, clocking in at 17:13.72. Before that, Camelia Morman placed 28th in the triple jump with a mark of 12.38 meters.
The Pirates will send freshmen Tynita Butts and Matthew McConaughey to represent ECU as Butts will participate in the high and long jump events while McConaughey qualified in the javelin throw.
The NCAA Outdoor Championships are scheduled for June 9-12 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
