Pirate Profile: Mackenzie Semerad

One of the newest faces on the East Carolina women's soccer team is true freshman Mackenzie Semerad. The Phoenix, Ariz. native was a four-year starter for coach Paul Manoogian at Desert Vista High School, where she helped the Thunder to the 2008 state finals and a pair of state semifinal appearances (2009-10).
Semerad, a two-time first-team all-state selection, made her collegiate debut on Friday, Aug. 19 in the season opener against No. 21 South Carolina logging 42 minutes and recording one shot on goal in the 18th minute of play.
