Full name: Gabriela Del Carmen Andino-Torres

How I got my nickname: I gave it to myself when I was six because Gabriela was too long
Most interesting thing I did this summer: I learned how to ride a four-wheeler with gear shift
Phrase you over-text the most: Oh.

Favorite athlete: Michael Vick and D’Wyane Wade
Favorite vacation spot: My best friend’s house
Favorite off-day activity: Four-wheeling down to the river
Dream car: Range Rover
Dream job: Owning a professional sports team
Biggest fear: Losing my mother
How did you get started in softball? My mother made me try out for a travel team when I was 10 years old because I had no future in baseball. After trying out, I fell in love with the game.
What are some of your routines on game day or during games? Listen to music and take deep breaths
What is your favorite softball memory? My sophomore year of high school when we went all the way to states after being projected to finish 5th in our conference.
If you could change one thing about softball, what would it be and why? I would change the innings to nine because seven is just extremely short.
What is the one piece of advice you would give to young girls who want to play? Always play your hardest and leave it all on the field because one day you’ll regret everything and wish you could go back to the “one game.”
One thing about you that would surprise most people reading this: I am actually a very sensitive and affectionate person. I don’t wear my heart on my sleeve, but rather in my pocket when I have to pull it out.
I can’t imagine going a week without: Talking to my mother.
Actress who should play me on the big screen: I can’t think of one person because I believe everyone is unique; you can’t portray someone else.
Song I sing in the shower: Anything Chris Brown.
Dream date: Jay-Z
First pro sports event you attended: Jacksonville Jaguars game
I wish I: Could sing
Award I would most like to win: Nobel Peace Prize
If I were a Pirate, my name would be: George
If I could be a character in a movie or a T.V. show, it would be: The hero of course! Who doesn’t want to be the hero of the story?
The first thing I owned that said “ECU” was: A t-shirt
The movie about my life would be titled: Gone with the Wind
The best birthday present you ever received was: Seeing my best friend after going weeks without her due to the difference in our softball schedules.
