GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina softball program announced it will host a two-day winter camp, Jan. 19-20, at the ECU Softball Stadium. Prices vary for select sessions and registration is open to all girls between kindergarten and 12th grade.
After the conclusion of camp on Monday, Jan. 20, East Carolina will hold a team practice that is open to the public.
The skill-based camp will be begin Sunday, Jan. 19 with a Future Pirates (grades 8-12) hitting and defensive session from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The first day will conclude with a Lil' and Junior Pirates (grades K-7) event from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
On Monday, Jan. 20, which will also the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, a pitching program including activities and drills will run from 8-10 a.m., and is open to all age groups. All campers interested in the pitching session must bring their own catcher. The second and final Future Pirates session will run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., and includes lunch.
Participants will receive both pitching and hitting opportunities through instruction from the ECU players and coaching staff. All campers are instructed to bring the following items:
- Glove, cleats, bat, batting helmet and warm clothes
- Catchers need to bring catching equipment (mitt, mask, chest protector and shin guards)
