GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina senior goalkeeper Erika Lenns was named to the 2014 All-American Athletic Conference Second Team, joining senior defender Kelly Johnson and junior forward Kendall Frey.
Lenns is the third goalkeeper in program to earn all-conference honors, joining Christiane Cordero (2012) and Amber Campbell (2006-08).
The Raleigh native took over in net for the Pirates nine matches into the season after starter Saundra Baron went down with an injury. She started each of ECU's final 13 games and allowed just 15 goals, while making 57 saves and posting a .792 save percentage. During her 1,180 minutes of playing time, Lenns earned seven wins and recorded five shutouts, helping East Carolina reach the semifinals of the conference tournament.
Lenns was named the American Athletic Conference's Goalkeeper-of-the-Week two times during her final campaign and was one of just three net-minders to receive the recognition multiple times.
East Carolina concluded the 2014 season with a 12-8-1 overall record and a 4-5-0 mark in conference matches.
