
Frey, Miller Receive NSCAA All-South Region Scholar Recognition

GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina women's soccer junior forward Kendall Frey and senior defender Kelly Miller were named to the NSCAA University Division Women's Scholar All-South Region Team, according to an announcement by the organization.
Miller received the honor for the second year in a row, while Frey was tabbed for the first time.
An elementary education major possessing a 3.61 cumulative grade point average, Frey and Miller were two of just five American Athletic Conference players along with Memphis senior midfielder Kylie Davis (first team), junior defender Marissa Duguay (honorable mention) and junior defender Elysia Masters (honorable mention) to be listed within the region.
An All-American Athletic Conference Second Team selection in 2014, Frey led the Pirates in shots on goal with 23 and game-winning goals with four during her third campaign, and finished tied for the team lead with eight goals and 18 points. The Chester Springs, Pa., native has scored in back-to-back games on three different occasions and scored three goals in the first two matches of the American Athletic Conference Championship. Her two goals via header were the difference in a 2-1 overtime upset at second-seeded Memphis in the quarterfinals. Frey was a 2013 All-Conference USA Third Team and C-USA All-Tournament Team choice with team highs in goals (6) and points (13).
Miller, a team captain and nursing major carrying a 3.56 grade point average, started all 21 games and played every minute in all but one match during her final campaign. She took 10 shots and recorded an assist against Francis Marion and Houston, respectively. Her 1,907 minutes played led all players on the team, as she finished her career with 67 games played, 47-straight starts and over 4,500 minutes of field time. Miller scored one goal and assisted on eight others during her four seasons.
East Carolina posted a 12-8-1 overall record and reached the semifinals of the American Athletic Conference Championship in their first season of as members of the league.
