GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina women's soccer team will close its regular season when it hosts Memphis on Sunday, Oct. 25. Opening kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m., at Johnson Soccer Stadium and the match will be broadcast on the American Digital Network.
ECU will need a win or tie and an SMU loss at nationally-ranked Connecticut to clinch the No. 8 seed in the 2015 American Athletic Conference Championship, which begins Tuesday, Nov. 2 in Dallas, Texas. The Pirates would meet UConn in the first round if they clinch a spot in the tournament.

LAST TIME OUT
East Carolina (7-9-2, 2-5-1 AAC) suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Tulsa on Friday night after the Golden Hurricane scored a golden goal just 33 seconds into the first overtime period. Sophomore midfielder Danielle Eule scored her first-career goal in the fourth minute to give the Pirates an early 1-0 lead, while senior defender Jackie Cajigal notched her first-career point with an assist.
ALL-TIME VERSUS MEMPHIS
Sunday's match will be the 16th overall meeting between the two programs, as ECU earned a memorable comeback victory over the Tigers in the quarterfinals of the 2014 American Athletic Conference Championship. Kendall Frey broke a 1-1 tie with her second goal of the game just under one minute into the first overtime period to advance the Pirates to the semifinals.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Memphis (8-6-3) enters Sunday's match with a 3-3-2 record in conference play and is coming off a 2-0 road victory at Cincinnati on Friday. The victory clinched the Tigers' berth into the 2015 American Athletic Conference Championship, beginning Nov. 2 in Dallas, Texas. Striker Valerie Sanderson leads Memphis with six goals and four assists on the season.

With one game left in the regular season, East Carolina currently sits in a tie for the No. 8 seed. The top eight teams will advance to the conference tournament, which will begin Nov. 3 in Dallas, Texas.

East Carolina has won three matches with less than a minute to play or later, including a pair of double overtime victories (Western Carolina & Charlotte) and on a goal with 31 seconds left in regulation (UCF). The Pirates also lost a match on a goal with 27 seconds to go (at SMU).
COUNTING DOWN
East Carolina women's soccer is just three victories shy of 200 in its history. Since the inception of the program in 1994, the Pirates have averaged greater than nine victories per season.
SEASON OF SHUTOUTS - THE SEQUEL?
ECU posted 11 shutouts in 2014, which tied the 2007 team for the most in a single season in school history, and the Pirates have eight in their first 18 games in 2015.
BARON'S BARREN NET
Redshirt senior goalkeeper has recorded eight shutouts in ECU's first 18 matches this season, the fourth most in a single season in program history. The Greensboro, N.C., native has blanked opponents in 13 in her last 26 starts dating back to 2014.
