MESA, Ariz. - East Carolina junior Frida Gustafsson Spang finished tied for 15th at the Clover Cup with a three-day score over 227 (11-over) at the 2015 Clover Cup. The three-day, 54-hole event was being held at the Long Bow Golc Club.
Spang, who carded a second round 69 (3-under), finished the tournament with a final round 76 (4-over) 11 shots out of third place. Fellow upperclassmen Nicoline Engstroem Skaug and Katie Kirk claimed share of 40th place (233/17-over) with third round scores of 78 and 76.
Rounding out the Pirates roster were freshman Lisa Pettersson (236/20-over) and junior Lane Gakeler (245/29-over) claiming 53rd and tied for 73rd.
No. 26 Arizona State (885) won team honors finishing 11 shots ahead of host and No. 32 Notre Dame (896). TCU made a late charge moving up to third at 898 with Oklahoma (904) and Florida International (907) rounding out the top five.
Oklahoma's Hannah Wood (209) posted rounds of 69, 71 and 69 to take top individual honors. Monica Vaughn (211/5-under) took second followed by UNC Wilmington's Annette Lycher (215/1-under).
The Pirates (62-42) will return to action on March 23rd when they travel south to Charleston, S.C. to participate in the Briar's Creek Invitational.
