Perez Paces Pirates At Daniel Island Invitational

DANIEL ISLAND, S.C. – Marta Perez posted a tournament score of 213 (3-under) finishing tied for fifth and helping the East Carolina women's golf team to a share of third place at the Daniel Island Invitational.
Perez, who shot rounds of 69, 73 and 71, registered her third career Top 5 finish and a career-lor 54-hole score of 213. Danielle Modder carded a score of 215 (74-71-70) for a share of ninth place which was her season-low score and eighth Top 10 placement of her career.
Nicole Nash (74-78-72) and Isabella Taylor-Stokes (74-77-73) finished tied for 29th with a score of 224, while Ella Stalvey carded an 11-over par 227 with rounds of 76, 78 and 73 for a share of 44th. Playing as an individual was Lisa Forss who claimed a share of 41st posting rounds of 74, 77 and 75 for a score of 226.
As a team, the Pirates shot a tournament score of 876 (291-298-287) for their third Top 3 placement. High Point won the team title with a score of 864, followed by NC State (870). Finished tied with ECU in third was Xavier (876) with Furman coming in fifth (877).
ECU returns to action on March 16 when it participates in the Briars Creek Invitational in Spring Island, S.C.
