
Baron Claims American Conference Goalkeeper-of-the-Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - East Carolina redshirt senior goalkeeper Saundra Baron has been named the first American Athletic Conference Goalkeeper-of-the-Week for the 2015 season according to an announcement by the league office Monday afternoon.
Baron recorded a pair of shutouts in ECU's first two matches of the season, including a four save effort in the Pirates' 2-0 opening night victory over George Mason on Friday evening, before holding Loyola-Chicago scoreless for 110 minutes and making two stops in a 0-0, double overtime draw on Sunday afternoon.
The Greensboro, N.C., native now has eight shutouts in her last 10 starts dating back to the 2014 season, running her career total to 14.5 scoreless outings.
East Carolina will travel to Williamsburg, Va., on Friday, Aug. 28 for its first road match of the season against William & Mary (2-0). Opening kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., at Martin Stadium.
