
ECU Set To Open Fall Season At Minnesota Invitational

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina women's golf team will open the 2015-16 season Monday, Sept. 14 when it participates in the Minnesota Invitational, which is hosted by the University of Minnesota. The event will be played at the par-72, 6,119-yard Minikahda Club in Minneapolis, Minn.
The Pirates, who claimed the tournament and individual (Frida Gustafsson Spang) titles a year ago, will be joined in the 12-team field by Colorado, GRU Augusta, Houston, Illinois, Kansas, Kent State, Kentucky, Minnesota, Purdue, TCU and Texas.
ECU Head Coach Kevin Williams will use a lineup consisted of three seniors (Nicoline Engstroem Skaug, Lane Gakeler and Spang), one sophomore (Lisa Pettersson) and one true freshman (Catherine Ashworth) to kick off the season. Kate Law, another Pirate true freshman, will compete as an individual.
The 54-hole tournament begins with 36 holes on Monday followed by 18 holes on Tuesday with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. (ET).
