LAST TIME OUT
ECU outshot UNC Wilmington, 13-7, including 9-1 in the second half, but was unable to overcome a 2-0 deficit in its first home loss of the season Thursday night. Junior forward Lana Spitler led all players with five shots, while sophomore striker Courtney Taybron took a career-high three shots.
ALL-TIME VERSUS OLD DOMINION
The Pirates trail the Monarchs, 9-7, in the all-time head-to-head matchup. Despite a 2-0 loss in Norfolk, Va., in 2013, East Carolina has won five of the last six matchups, outscoring Old Dominion, 9-5, in those contests. The last time ODU won in Greenville was during the 1995 season.
SCOUTING THE MONARCHS
Old Dominion (2-6) enters Sunday's match coming off a 3-1 home victory over George Mason on Friday night, a common opponent that ECU defeated, 2-0, in its home opener on Aug. 21. Iris Achterhof leads the Monarchs with six of the team's nine goals on the year, while Kira Laurento ranks second with one goal and three assists.
CASH REGISTERS AAC ROOKIE HONOR
Freshman forward Courtney Cash was named American Athletic Conference Rookie-of-the-Week after scoring her first collegiate goal in game-winning fashion, netting the lone score in the 107th minute of the Pirates' 1-0 double overtime victory over Western Carolina on Sept. 11.
DOUBLE OT HISTORY
East Carolina won back-to-back double overtime games against Western Carolina and Charlotte on Sept. 11 and 13, marking the first time the Pirates accomplished the feat since Oct. 22 and 24 at Cincinnati and Louisville in 2004. The last time ECU won two double overtime matches in a season was 2008.
Déjà VU
East Carolina's 1-0 double overtime home win over Western Carolina in the 107th minute on Sept. 11 ended in eerily similar fashion as the last time the two teams met in Greenville in 2013 when Lexi Miller scored on a header in the 110th minute of a 2-1 victory over the Catamounts.
FREY FEEDING FRENZY
Well-known as one of the Pirates' top scoring threats, senior striker Kendall Frey has four assists in her first eight matches in 2015, matching the number of helpers she totaled in 57 games during her first three seasons.
THREE CHEERS
Senior striker Kendall Frey recorded a career-high three assists, helping on all of ECU's goals, in the team's 3-0 road victory at UNC Greensboro on Sept. 6. The last time a Pirate had three in a game was Sarah Kirkley on Oct. 6, 2006 against Marshall.
