GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina men's tennis team dropped its fifth match in a row in a 4-0 non-conference bout against Charlotte on Sunday afternoon.
The Pirates held serve on court three in doubles, but dropped two breaks on court one and one break on court two, as the 49ers claimed the doubles point with 6-3 and 6-4 victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, respectively, to take a 1-0 lead in the overall match.
ECU would not go down easy, forcing third sets at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 singles, but Charlotte was able to close out each match and clinch the 4-0 victory.
East Carolina returns to action Friday, Apr. 1 when it hosts George Washington. First serve is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., at the River Birch Tennis Complex.
