MINNEAPOLIS – Junior Lisa Pettersson (144) sits in fifth place after 36 holes at the 2016 Minnesota Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole event is being held at the par-72, 6,119-yard Minikahda Club.
Pettersson, who fired rounds of 74 and 70, is just one stroke behind a quartet of golfers with scored of 143 (1-under par). On the day she registered 10 birdies, 17 pars, six bogeys and one double-bogey during Monday's action.
Kate Law (146) is tied for eighth after rounds of 74 and 72. The sophomore recorded seven birdies, 20 pars and nine bogeys on the day.
Playing in her first collegiate tournament, Dorthea Forbrigd (152) is tied for 35th after rounds of 79 and 73, while fellow classmate Siranon Shoomee (80-78=158) is tied for 50th. Sophomore transfer Carley Cox (155) is tied for 45th following her rounds of 79 and 76. During her first round, Cox registered an eagle on the par-5 14th hole.
Texas (590) holds a one-shot lead over Louisville and Purdue, who are tied at 591. TCU (594) is fourth, while Furman and Kentucky are six strokes back of the leader at 596. ECU is seven shots behind Texas in seventh at 597.
The Minnesota Invitational concludes Tuesday, with the third round set to begin with a 10 a.m. (EDT) shotgun start.
