East Carolina will look to snap a four-game losing streak Sunday when it hosts No. 22 Cincinnati inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum at 4 p.m. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network and be carried on SiriusXM Radio.
The Bearcats sit atop the American Athletic Conference standings at 4-0, while the Pirates are tied for 10th at 1-4.
ECU is coming off a 74-58 loss to Houston Wednesday. Junior B.J. Tyson sustained a leg injury late in the contest and is out indefinitely. He was the Pirates' leading scorer with 11.9 and had a team-best 53 total assists.
The Pirates will look to sophomore Kentrell Barkley and senior Caleb White to pick up the scoring load. White (11.4) and Barkley (10.9) ranks second and third on the team in scoring. Barkley has led ECU in scoring each of the last four games and White is on the verge of 1,400 career points.
As if the task of upsetting the 22nd-ranked Bearcats without Tyson wasn't daunting enough, the Pirates will do so knowing that coach Jeff Lebo is set to have hip surgery Monday and will be out for an extended period of time.
Cincinnati  brings a seven-game winning streak into the contest and is off to its best start in league play since winning their first 11 American Athletic Conference games during the 2013-14 campaign en route to winning a share of the conference crown.
The Bearcats enter the weekend ranked second in the nation in field goal percent defense (.362) and 12th in scoring defense (61.6).
Four Bearcats are average double figures led by sophomore Jacob Evans with 14.3 points per game. NC State transfer Kyle Washington ranks second with 13.6 ppg followed by Senior Troy Caupain and junior Gary Clark with 10.4 ppg.
Cincinnati leads the all-time series 10-1. The Pirates won their lone game against UC in Greenville two years ago.
