GREENVILLE, N.C. – The ECU women's soccer team (6-7-2, 1-5) will begin a three-match road trip to close out the regular season beginning at SMU (6-6-3, 1-4-1) Thursday evening. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Westcott Field in Dallas, Texas.

The Pirates are coming off their first AAC win of the season over Tulsa, 1-0, at home last Sunday. SMU is 1-4-1 in the league after also winning its first AAC match last week with a 2-0 victory over Temple.
In 10 meetings, the Mustangs lead the series 6-4-2. Last time the two met, SMU defeated ECU, 1-0, on Oct. 12, 2016. ECU is 1-3 all-time in matches played at SMU.

ECU is led by Courtney Cash who has a team-high six goals and 14 points. Cashlin Copley, Ashley Kendrot and Annah Lindberg all join her with multiple goals this season. Michelle Newhouse holds a 1.19 goals against average with 51 saves in 1,284 minutes of action. The Pirates average 10.4 shots per game and 1.07 goals per game.

SMU's leading scorer, Vanessa Valadez, has five goals for a team-best 10 points this season. Claire Oates, Allie Thorton and Hannah Allred have all recorded three goals each this season. Goalkeeper Catie Brown is 6-6-3 with a 1.53 goals against average and 51 saves in 1,414 minutes. The Mustangs are 4-4-1 at home and 2-2-2 on the road in 2017.
