October 31, 2017 | Soccer
Providence, R.I. – ECU soccer Junior Courtney Cash was named to the American Athletic Conference Second Team in an announcement by league officials on Tuesday afternoon. This marks the second AAC postseason honor for Cash who was named to the All-Rookie team in 2015.
Â
This season, Cash led the Pirates in five statistical categories including goals, points, shots, shots on goal and game-winning goals. She appeared in all 18 contests for ECU and tallied at least one goal in five different matches. She twice tallied four points in a game this season, first with a goal and two assists in the Pirates' 3-2 overtime win over Dayton in the season opener and again in ECU's 3-0 shutout of in-state foe UNCW.
Â
Cash earned AAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades on Sept. 18 after scoring three goals including the game-tying goal in the 84th minute against then No. 5 Virginia on a 1-0-1 week for the Pirates.
Â
For the fourth-consecutive year ECU has landed at least one player on the AAC Second Team, making the Pirates represented every season since joining the league.
Â
Regular season champion UCF took six of the major awards including Offensive, Co-Defensive, Midfielder, Goalkeeper, Rookie and Coach of the Year.
