RESULT
Rutgers, the nation's leader in scoring defense, held ECU to 47 points and defeated the Pirates 61-47 in the final game of the Showcase On The Banks for both teams Friday.

TURNING POINT
After ECU (2-3) had pulled within seven early in the second half, Rutgers (6-0) outscored the Pirates 25-8 over a 10-minute stretch to take 57-33 lead with 7:56 remaining. Six Scarlet Knights scored three or more points during the run led by seven from guard Mike Williams, who capped the spurt with a 3-pointer.

ECU PLAYER-OF-THE-GAME
Senior Jabari Craig scored a career-high 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting with five rebounds in 22 minutes of action. He also set a career-best for field goals made and field goal attempts.

RUTGERS PLAYER-OF-THE-GAME
Senior Deshawn Freeman posted his first double-double of the season, scoring a game-high 15 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. He had 10 double-doubles last season.

KEY PERFORMERS
ECU freshman Dimitri Spasojevic grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds, marking the first time he garnered double digit rebounds in his career … Senior Isaac Fleming was the only other player on the team to score double figures, finishing with 14 points.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Pirates held Rutgers 15 points below its season average of 76.4 points per game and more than 15 percentage points below its season field goal percentage of .451 … ECU started 5-of-9 from the field, but made just 14-of-40 (.350) the remainder of the game … The Scarlet Knights scored 19 points off 19 ECU turnovers … Rutgers made 14 free throws, while ECU attempted 11 foul shots … Kentrell Barkley was held scoreless for the first time since the final home game of the 2015-16 season against Memphis … B.J. Tyson moved into 10^th-place on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,198 points.
