RESULT
ECU (4-4) recorded its second straight victory with a 63-57 win over Delaware State (2-7) inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum Saturday and improve to 2-0 under interim head coach Michael Perry.

TURNING POINT
Barkley's steal and subsequent dunk gave ECU a two possession lead with two minutes remaining. That was part of a 7-0 run which gave the Pirates a 60-52 lead with 1:35 to play. The Hornets pulled within three with 1:06 remaining but came up empty on their game-tying possession and Shawn Williams sealed it with two free throws with 17 seconds left.

ECU PLAYER-OF-THE-GAME
Junior Isaac Fleming scored 17 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists and collected two steals … Fleming was 7-of-13 from the field and 3-of-3 at the free throw line … It was his fourth straight game scoring 14 or more points and third in a row with 17 or more.

DELAWARE STATE PLAYER-OF-THE-GAME
Artem Tavakalyan scored a game-high 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting, going 3-of-4 outside the arc … He also grabbed a team-best eight rebounds.

KEY PERFORMERS
Barkley posted his second double-double in the last three games scoring 17 points and grabbing a season-best 14 rebounds … Jabari Craig pulled down double digit rebounds for the second straight game, grabbing 11 boards … In the past three games he grabbed 34 total rebounds (9-14-11) … Shawn Williams added 12 points off the bench, shooting 4-of-8 from the floor, including 2-of-4 from 3.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
The Pirates overcame a halftime deficit for the first time this season (1-4), albeit trailing by only one at intermission … ECU grabbed more than 50 rebounds (51) for the first time in 2017-18 … Barkley, Fleming and Williams combined for 46 points on 17-of-33 shooting (.515) … ECU won for the first time this season when scoring less than 70 points.
