NAPA, Calif. ā Junior Lisa Pettersson carded a final round 70 (2-under par) finishing tied for 41st at the 2017 Silverado Showdown. The three-day, 54-hole event is being held at the par-72, 6,176-yard Silverado Resort and Spa.
Pettersson (222) registered five birdies, three bogies and 10 pars in her final round to lead the Pirates. She ranked among the tournament leaders in par-5 scoring (t4/4.67) and 10th in total birdies (12). Freshman Dorthea Forbrigd finished tied for 46th after her round of 75 (3-over), which consisted of three bogies and 15 pars.
Rounding the Pirates roster were sophomore Kate Law (63rd/228), freshman Siranon Shoomee (t76/233) and sophomore Carley Cox (t89/246).
Third-ranked Stanford claimed the team title leading wire-to-wire for a three-day score of 848 (16-under par) finishing nine strokes ahead of UCLA (857). Tournament co-host and No. 33 Colorado (860/4-under) took third place, while No. 28 California (869) and No. 13 Northwestern (869) claimed a share of fourth place. The Pirates finished 15th with a score of 906 (42-over).
The Pirates (89-55-2) will be back in action on Sunday, April 16 when they participate in the American Athletic Conference Championships in Palm Coast, Fla.
