GREENVILLE, N.C. – The ECU women's soccer team (2-0) returns home to face Towson (2-0-1) at Johnson Stadium on Sunday. Kickoff between the Pirates and Tigers is slated for 1 p.m.

Sunday's match up marks just the second meeting between the two in program history. ECU leads the series 1-0 after defeating Towson 2-1 on the road on Aug. 21, 2016.

The Pirates are 2-0 this season following Friday night's 2-1 road win at Davidson. It marks the first time ECU has begun the season with a pair of wins since 2009 when the Pirates started 3-0. Annah Lindberg leads the Pirates this season with two goals, both of which she scored against the Wildcats Friday night. Junior Courtney Cash is tied with Lindberg for the team-lead of four points with a goal and two assists while Jenna Geist also has a pair of assists on the season. Genevieve Ramirez and Michelle Newhouse each have a win in goal defeating Dayton and Davidson, respectively.

Towson is 2-0-1 this season. The Tigers played UMBC to a 1-1 draw in their season opener and have won back-to-back matches over Loyola (Md.) and Longwood both by a score of 1-0. McKenzie McCaull leads the squad with a goal and an assist for three points while Sarah Quick and Evelyn Neidert have each tallied a goal tying for second on the team in points with two. Taylor Sebolao has played all 290 minutes in goal for the Tigers allowing one goal for a 0.31 goals against average.
