GREENVILLE, N.C. – The ECU women's soccer team (5-2-1) welcomes the No. 5 Virginia Cavaliers to Johnson Stadium on Sunday. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.

The Pirates are coming off Thursday night's 3-0 win over in-state rival UNCW. Thursday's win gave the Pirates their fifth of the season, tying their total from a year ago. Courtney Cash scored a pair of goals in while Kim Sanford recorded her first career goal and assist as a Pirate against the Seahawks. Cash leads the team with four goals this season and two assists for 10 points. Michelle Newhouse secured her fourth career shutout in the 3-0 win over UNCW and made five saves. She is 4-2-1 overall in 650 minutes.

The No. 5 Cavaliers are 5-2-1 this season following a 0-0 draw with No. 25 NC State on Friday night. Taylor Ziemer leads UVA with six points. She has two goals and two assists through the first eight matches. Taryn Torres is the only other Cavalier with multiple goals this season while seven others have each tallied a goal. Laurel Ivory has played all 755 minutes in goal for Virginia with a 0.71 goals against average and four shutouts. She's made 14 saves and allowed six for a 5-2-1 record.

Sunday marks just the second time the two will meet in program history. In the first meeting UVA defeated ECU 4-0 on August 27, 2004.
