RESULT
Houston held ECU to 29.8 percent shooting en route to a 65-49 win Sunday afternoon inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum for its sixth consecutive win in the series.

TURNING POINT
Houston (14-3, 4-1) outscored the Pirates 24-8 in the final 11 minutes of the first half to build a 19-point halftime lead, 36-17. The Cougars made 9-of-18 field goal attempts to end the half and held ECU (7-10, 1-5) to a pair of made baskets during that stretch. Houston stretched its lead to 24 points in the first five minutes of the second half and the led by as many as 30 with under seven minutes to play.

ECU PLAYER-OF-THE-GAME
Freshman Shawn Williams scored 17 points off the bench on 6-of-13 shooting, burying a trio of 3s. He scored 11 points in the second half, going 4-of-8 from the floor.

HOUSTON PLAYER-OF-THE-GAME
Junior Corey Davis, Jr. went 6-of-8 from outside the 3-point arc on his way to matching his career-high of 20 points. He was 3-of-3 outside the arc in the opening half before going 3-of-5 in the second half to match his career-high set against LSU earlier this season.

KEY PERFORMERS
B.J. Tyson scored double figures for the seventh consecutive game, finishing with 12 points and distributing a team-high four assists … Junior Kentrell Barkley grabbed a game-high nine rebounds, his most since pulling down 12 against Charlotte (Dec. 18).

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Houston held the Pirates to 22.2 percent from the field (6-27) in the first half … ECU outscored the Cougars in points off turnovers (15-13) and second chance points (16-12) … Houston had 21 assists on 26 made baskets … One game after knocking down an American Athletic Conference record 18 3-pointers, Houston made nine against ECU.
