ECU returns home for the first time in two weeks Wednesday night as it host Tulane in an American Athletic Conference matchup.
The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a voucher upon entry for a special PeeDee bobblehead. The vouchers are redeemable in the Smith-Williams Center beginning at No Quarter through postgame. The ECU softball team will be signing autographs postgame as well.
Both the Pirates and Green Wave have dropped each of their last two games with ECU falling on the road to Cincinnati and SMU, while Tulane also lost at SMU before falling at home to USF a week ago.
Freshman Shawn Williams has been the hottest Pirate shooting the basketball. He has led the Pirates in scoring in three of the last four games, averaging 17.0 points per game during that stretch. He is also shooting 41.0 percent (16-of-39) outside the 3-point arc over the past four games.
Isaac Fleming has scored double figures in three straight and ranks second in The American with 4.7 assists per game.
Kentrell Barkley scored double figures against USF and Cincinnati before he was injured during the game against SMU Sunday and played just nine minutes.
He is expected to play Wednesday night.
Tulane features one of the top offenses in the league led by the duo of Melvin Frazier (17.1 ppg) and Cameron Reynolds (15.8 ppg), who rank fifth and sixth in the conference, respectively.
The Green Wave has topped the 70-point mark six times in eight conference games, including three games of 80 more points. ECU has topped 67 points just once.
Frazier leads the conference in steals and ranks second only to UCF's Tacko Fall in field goal percentage. Reynolds ranks ninth in The American with 6.3 rebounds per game.
"Even though some of the same characters are still there, they're different," ECU Interim Head Coach Michael Perry said. "They're better, they're bigger, they're more athletic, and they're more physical, so we're going to have to bring it."
The Pirates swept the season series last year and have won three in a row against Tulane overall. However, the Green Wave holds a 13-10 all-time series advantage.
