GREENVILLE, N.C. – The ECU women's basketball team (8-7, 0-2) will play its first American Athletic Conference road game at Memphis (5-9, 0-1) this Saturday at 1 p.m. (EST) from Elma Roane Fieldhouse.

The Pirates split a four-game home stand over the past three weeks and haven't played a true road contest since Dec. 4, when the Pirates defeated Kennesaw State 66-56. On the season the purple and gold hold a 1-1 road record.

Freshman Ariyana Williams is averaging a team-high 11.1 points per game. Senior Thais Oliveira is second on the team in scoring with 9.9 points per contest while also leading the team in rebounds with 7.3 per game. Junior Alex Frazier has recorded 66 assists on the season and is fifth in the conference with 4.4 assists per game.

With a 64-54 victory over Maryland Eastern Shore on Dec. 28, 2017, eighth-year head coach Heather Macy tied Sharon Baldwin-Tener (2002-2010) as the program's all-time wins leader with 126.

After finishing non-conference play on a four-game win streak, the Tigers dropped their conference opener 97-49 at Connecticut on Dec. 31, 2017. Memphis is led by senior Cheyenne Creighton who leads the team in points (15.0) and rebounds (8.9) per game. Â Creighton is also the AAC leader in minutes played per game (36.1). Fellow senior Brea Elmore is second on the team in scoring with 13.5 points per contest.

The all-time series dates back to 2002 and is led by the Tigers, 15-12. Macy holds a 2-9 all-time record against Memphis. In the last meeting on Feb. 15, 2017, the Tigers defeated ECU 72-50 in Memphis.
