ATLANTA --- ECU turned in a trio of NCAA 'B' qualifying times and a pair of Top-5 finishes Friday night at the Georgia Tech Invitational at the McAuley Aquatic Center.

Junior Gustavo Santos claimed the Pirates' first individual victory of the meet with a NCAA 'B' qualifying time of 46.25 in the 100-yard butterfly, edging Zane Waddell of Alabama by 0.20.

Sophomore Jacek Arentewicz posted a NCAA 'B' qualifying time of 53.52 in the 100-yard breaststroke to capture fourth-place and freshman Marek Osina recorded a B cut time of 3:50.59 in the 400-yard individual medley.

"It was a really good night for the Pirates" head coach Matthew Jabs said. "We saw some very strong swims today. Lily [West] and Jacek each had very strong 100 breaststroke races, while Lisa Bentin matched her personal-best in the 100-yard butterfly followed closely by Shannnon Stott.

"Best race of the day was Gustavo winning the 100-yard butterfly."

The Pirates had 14 swimmers qualify for the finals of their respective events Friday.

The meet continues with the final day of competition on Saturday.
