GREENVILLE, N.C. – The ECU women's basketball team (13-10, 5-5) will look to build on its three-game winning streak at USF (18-5, 8-2) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. from at the Sun Dome in Tampa, Florida.

ECU has won three straight and five of the last seven contests. The Pirates recorded their second-largest AAC win in program history with a 76-47 win over SMU this past Saturday.

Lashonda Monk was named the AAC Freshman of the Week after averaging 19.5 points, 7.0 steals, 6.5 assists and shooting 55 percent (15-of-27) from the field in ECU's two victories. Monk scored a career-high 19 points in the Pirate's comeback win against Wichita State on Jan. 30, before eclipsing that mark four days later, by scoring 20 points in ECU's win over SMU on Feb. 3.

Junior point guard Alex Frazier was named to the weekly Honor Roll after averaging 12.0 points, 5.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals in ECU's two wins. The junior converted on 66 percent (12-of-18) of her field goal attempts.

Freshman Ariyana Williams is leading the team in scoring at 9.7 points per game. Senior Thais Oliveira is second on the team in scoring with 9.0 points per contest. In conference play, Monk leads the conference in steals with 3.2 per game and leads the team in scoring at 8.7 per game. Frazier is averaging the team's second-best scoring average in AAC play at 8.1 points, while also adding 4.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists per contest. Frazier joins sophomore Dominque Claytor as the only two Pirates to start all eight conference games.

USF is currently ranked No. 23 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and is receiving votes in the Associated Press poll. The Bulls have won three-straight contests, with their last loss coming on Jan. 21 at Wichita State, 64-56. Junior Kitija Laksa is fourth in the AAC in scoring and leads the team with 19.1 per game. Senior Maria Jespersen leads the team in rebounding at 9.5 per game, while also scoring 17.9 points per contest. The Bulls are 8-1 on the season and 3-1 in conference play at home.

The Pirates and the Bulls have met 12 times in the series history that dates back to 1985. The series is tied, with each team having won six games. ECU head coach Heather Macy is 1-5 all-time against the Bulls. In the last meeting, on Feb. 18, 2017, USF defeated the Pirates at home, 76-66.
