TULSA, Okla.  – For the second-straight game, homestanding Tulsa scored all of its runs in one inning and defeated ECU 4-1in an American Athletic Conference softball contest at the Collins Family Softball Complex.  Â

How It Happened
The Pirates came out strong in the top of the first inning, recording a single by freshman Tyler King before fellow rookie Ashleigh Inae reached on an error in left field. Senior Meredith Burroughs then smoked a 2-2 pitch down the right field line to score King and give ECU a 1-0 advantage. After a groundout, senior Alex Mycek walked to load the bases but the Pirates could not push another run across after a strikeout and pop up to second ended the frame.

The Golden Hurricane took the lead for good in the bottom of the third, pounding out four runs on six hits and an ECU error to claim a 4-1 advantage. The Pirates put runners on in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings but could not come up with any further runs.
