
Yatawara To Compete In South Asian Games

GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina senior golfer Grace Yatawara has been selected to participate in the 2019 South Asian Games and will represent Sri Lanka at the event, which will be held Dec. 3-6 at the Gokarna Forest Resort in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Yatawara, who is part of a seven-member team, is currently training at the Royal Colombo Golf Club in Sri Lanka. The Salisbury, N.C. native closed out the fall portion of ECU's schedule posting 75.73 scoring average. In four events, she recorded one Top 15 finish which came at the Pirate Collegiate Classic after her 10-over par score of 226.

During her Pirate career, she has participated in 21 events claiming three Top 15 finishes. Currently she has the 17th lowest career stroke average in school history (76.93) in 60 career events.
