Softball Signs Pair Of Student-Athletes To National Letters Of Intent

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Emma Anthony and Taylor Woodring have signed national letters of intent to attend East Carolina University and compete for the softball program beginning in the fall of 2020 according to an announcement by fifth-year head coach Courtney Oliver. The student-athletes are currently teammates at Lakewood Ranch High School in Bradenton, Fla.

Helped lead the Mustangs to a 30-1 overall record in 2019 as well as a spot in the Florida 8A state championship game and a No. 1 national ranking by MaxPreps
Batted .525 as a freshman at Braden River High School with 31 hits, 28 RBI, eight doubles, six home runs and eight stolen bases on the way to all-area accolades and honorable mention all-state recognition.
Hit .355 her sophomore year when Braden River posted a 22-6 record and advanced to the Florida 7A regional finals.
Compiled a .457 batting average with a .562 on base percentage and 46 RBI during the first two seasons of her prep career.
Part of a Tampa Mustangs club that finished third overall at the 2019 PGF Premier 18U Nationals and was ranked No. 2 nationally at the end of the season.

Taylor Woodring, Outfield, Lakewood Ranch, Fla., Lakewood Ranch High School

Helped lead the Mustangs to a 30-1 overall record in 2019 as well as a spot in the Florida 8A state championship game and a No.1 national ranking by MaxPreps.
Named to the all-state first team as a sophomore in 2018 after batting .381 with 32 hits, 18 runs scored, 30 RBI, eight doubles and three home runs.
Enters her senior season with a cumulative .355 batting average and .418 on base percentage as well as 70 hits, 51 RBI and 40 runs scored.
Part of a Tampa Mustangs club that finished third overall at the 2019 PGF Premier 18U Nationals and was ranked No. 2 nationally at the end of the season.
