2019 Season Tickets: Why, Where & When
February 18, 2019 | General
Pirate Nation:
Â
With our spring sports successfully underway, we are also gearing up for the 2019 football season with the start of spring practice in March.
Â
As a Pirates fan, your support provides our team a home field advantage and we need it more than ever in 2019 as we restore the pride and prominence of ECU Football. You have felt the energy and excitement inside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium, witnessed memorable victories, made it the greatest tailgate scene in the country, and you remember the sight of a stadium full of purple and gold, and the sound of the cannon when the Pirates score another touchdown.
Â
Let's unite and bring it back!
Â
We understand we haven't competed at the level we all expect in recent years, but with a new coaching staff led by Mike Houston, a dedicated group of student-athletes and a loyal fan base, it's time to take back our ARRRGH City, ARRRGH Region, ARRRGH State.
Â
It will happen because of YOU!
Â
We are asking YOU to give us an opportunity.
Â
Football season ticket purchases have dropped in the last eight years for a myriad of reasons, going from nearly 23,000 to just under 13,000 in 2018.
Â
Make no mistake, we take full ownership.
Â
Over the course of my first 76 days as your athletics director, I have intently listened to your suggestions, what you have enjoyed and what you would like changed about your experience as a season ticket holder. Our staff and I will continue to listen and evaluate, and we look forward to sharing with you what amenities or experiences will change in 2019. We are going to evaluate this critical feedback you are providing as we plan for the upcoming season.
Â
Another step in the process of restoring our fan base begins in earnest on Wednesday when football season tickets go on sale.
Â
It's time to pack Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium again.
Â
Your renewal for 2019 football season tickets will be available on Wednesday at 9 a.m. The priority deadline to renew is May 1.
Â
The 2019 season ticket packages include six home games and prices will be at least $75 lower than last year's and even less in some cases. Fans who purchase multiple tickets will see a significant savings. We want our pricing to be affordable for all Pirate families and we offer numerous payment plans. The new pricing structure for 2019 includes:

In addition, fans who order by the dates below will be eligible to win unique experiences such as:
- Renew/Buy by March 15 – 4 seats in the new Scholarship Club for a game of your choice.
- Renew/Buy by April 1 – 2 sideline pregame passes for the game of your choice.
- Renew/Buy by April 15 – 4 tickets to the ECU-Navy game at Annapolis on Sept. 14.
- Renew/Buy by May 1 – Have the opportunity to Raise the No Quarter Flag at the Thursday night Temple game on Oct. 3.
For 2019, all Pirate Club members who qualify for parking privileges and want a reserved parking lot must purchase a parking pass for $120. Please let me explain the reasoning behind the parking fee.
Â
Our department suffers a substantial deficit each year associated with parking expenses, which include parking lot rentals, management, public safety and transportation staff, equipment and maintenance. As a result, our department's net losses associated with football parking in 2018 exceeded $100,000.
Â
As part of the growing costs associated with providing our 450-plus student-athletes the best experience possible, competing in the American Athletic Conference, enhancing our facilities and remaining competitive with our peers, we feel this price adjustment for parking is warranted.
Â
It is important to mention that our season ticket prices will be below the AAC average and lower than programs throughout our region. You deserve a break in prices due to your loyalty and support of our football program.
Â
The Pirate Club plays a pivotal role in providing support for our department and I encourage each of you to join the Pirate Club at any level. Being a member of the Pirate Club allows you to sit in our lower level seats and the reseating plan for 2019 will offer you the best priority seats available. In addition to getting more options on season tickets, making an investment in the Pirate Club is a great way to support our student-athletes. You can visit ecupirateclub.com for more information or call (252) 737-4540.
 Â
As I have said on numerous occasions, being a part of the Pirate family is a privilege for me and I will never take it for granted. Our goal is to give our fans both an enjoyable and memorable experience at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium, and I think you will be pleased with what you see in 2019.
Â
On behalf of the athletics department, we can't thank you enough for your support. I can't wait to see all of you this fall!
