Forbrigd Named American Women’s Co-Golfer-Of-The-Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – ECU junior Dorthea Forbrigd has been named the American Athletic Conference Women's Co-Golfer-of-the-Week, the league announced Wednesday.

The Oslo, Norway native recorded her fifth Top 20 placement of the season claiming a share of second place at the 2019 Suntrust Florida Gator Invitational after shooting a new career-low 54-hole score of 207 (3-under par). The two-day score is tied for the second in the program annuals with Frida Gustafsson Spang (Minnesota Invitational, Fall 2014). On the final day of competition, she carded a personal-best 65 (5-under) registering six birdies, one bogey and 11 pars.

Forbrigd, who helped the Pirates to a fifth place finish, ranked among the tournament leaders in four stat categories including par-3 scoring (t1st/5-under), total birdies (t4th/11), par-4 scoring (t10th/2-over) and total pars (t15th/36).

ECU (49-44) will return to action on Monday, March 19 when it participates in the Briar's Creek Invitational at the Briar's Creek Golf Club in Charleston, S.C.
