ECU Concludes Regular Season At Stitch Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The ECU men's golf team closes the regular season as it travels to the Cary to compete in the 2019 Stitch Intercollegiate at MacGregor Downs Country Club, April 12-13. The tournament format is 54 holes of stroke play that will get underway on Friday (April 12) at 8:30 a.m. ET. Live scoring will be available via Golfstat.

The Pirates will play the first two rounds alongside Richmond and fellow American Athletic Conference member USF on the par-72, 6,973-yard course.

Joining the trio in the field are four Top-30 teams: No. 3 Wake Forest, No. 20 Liberty, No. 21 Louisville and No. 26 NC State along with Campbell, Davidson, Maryland, Old Dominion, Toledo, VCU and Virginia Tech.

ECU will enter the five-man team of Blake Taylor, Patrick Stephenson, A.J. Beechler, Tim Bunten and Stephen Carroll. Taylor is coming off a 2-under-par performance at the Irish Creek Intercollegiate in Kannapolis and has shot par or better in 15 of 30 rounds played this season.

Taylor leads the Pirates with 71.80 strokes per round followed by Stephenson (72.07) and Beechler (72.70).

As a team, ECU is shooting an average of 4-over-par per round.
