
Buford Era Set To Begin At Minnesota Invitational

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's golf team will open the 2019-20 season on Monday, Sept. 9 when it participates in the Minnesota Invitational, which is hosted by the University of Minnesota. The two-day event will be played at the par-72, 6,297-yard Prestwick Golf Club in Woodbury, Minn.

The Pirates, who are set to open up a new era of golf under first-year head coach CC Buford, will participate in their sixth-straight Minnesota Invitational (2014 and 2015 tournament champions). They will be joined in the 15-team field by Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Long Beach State, Louisville, Miami (Fla.), Minnesota, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, San Francisco, San Jose State, UTSA, and Virginia Tech.Â

Buford will use a lineup consisting of 2019 All-American Athletic Conference honorees Kathryn Carson (junior) and Dorthea Forbrigd (senior), along with Caroline Hermes (freshman), Siranon Shoomee (senior) and Grace Yatawara (senior).

The 54-hole tournament begins with 36 holes on Monday (8:40 a.m. EDT) Â followed by 18 holes on Tuesday with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. (EDT).
