GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina plays its final road series of the 2021 regular season this weekend, visiting South Florida for a four-game set at the USF Softball Stadium.

The series begins Friday at noon while the teams will play a doubleheader at 11 a.m. Saturday and a single contest Sunday at 2 p.m. All four games will be streamed live via ESPN+.

The Pirates (11-29, 2-14 AAC) dropped all four games to Tulsa at home last weekend, including three Golden Hurricane shutouts. ECU led the series finale 2-1 last Sunday before a pair of unearned runs allowed Tulsa to rally for the sweep.

Rachel McCollum leads East Carolina in batting average (.366), hits (45) and doubles (9) while Chandley Garner has posted a squad-high nine home runs and 24 RBI. Kama Woodall has anchored the pitching staff to the tune of a 6-16 record, 3.93 earned run average, 11 complete games and 86 strikeouts in 148.0 innings of work.

South Florida enters Friday tied with Tulsa atop The American standings with a 12-3 league record (24-12 overall). The Bulls picked up a huge series win at Wichita State last weekend, knocking the Shockers from the top spot in the conference by winning three of four. Georgina Corrick was the pitcher of record in all of the victories, limiting Wichita to a .114 batting average in the series. She logged an 0.67 ERA with 29 strikeouts in 21 innings of work. Â

Eight contests remain before the AAC Tournament in Tulsa. After its series against South Florida, East Carolina wraps up the regular season at home against Memphis next weekend.

• South Florida leads the series with East Carolina, 24-11
• The Pirates are 5-13 against the Bulls in Tampa.
• The teams last met during the 2019 season when South Florida swept a three-game series in Tampa. The Bulls won the three contests by a combined four runs.
