RALEIGH, N.C. – The East Carolina softball team is set to travel to Raleigh for a three-game weekend series with NC State beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday at Dail Softball Stadium. The first game of the doubleheader is set for 2 p.m. on ACC Network Extra with Evan Budrovich and Brantley Hattrich on the call and the second game to begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.

The Pirates have enjoyed a six-day break since their last contest which was a 7-1 defeat on the road to then-No. 23 Wichita State on Sunday. ECU held the Shockers' high-powered offense in check for most of the weekend, but the Pirates only totaled two runs over the three games to lead to a series sweep.

Taylor Edwards leads the Pirates on offense with a batting average of .390 (5th in AAC), is tied for fourth with fellow outfielder Taudrea Sinnie in the AAC with five triples (t-16th-in NCAA) this season and has recorded multiple hits in 12 games to lead the Pirates. Sinnie is second in the American in stolen bases with 17 and Logan Sutton leads the team in home runs with six. The Pirates are led in the circle by Addy Bullis (2.86 ERA, 87 strikeouts) and Jordan Hatch (3.39 ERA, 102 strikeouts).
Scouting the Wolfpack
NC State is coming off a 10-1 midweek win over Norfolk State on Wednesday that saw the Wolfpack record 11 hits and tally two home runs. Hannah Goodwin and Rebecca Murray led the Wolfpack at the plate with batting averages of .342 and .286 respectively and Katlyn Pavlick has hit a team-high 10 home runs. Madison Inscoe is NC State's top arm in the circle with a 4.39 ERA and Aisha Weixlmann leads the pitching staff in strikeouts with 84.

NC State leads the series with East Carolina 14-8 since 2005 and the Pirates fell to the Wolfpack 9-6 in Raleigh in the teams' last meeting on Apr. 20, 2022.
