Sara Kalawska Named AAC Swimmer Of The Week

IRVING, Texas – East Carolina junior Sara Kalawska has been named the American Athletic Conference Swimming Athlete of the Week according to an announcement by the league office Tuesday afternoon.

Kalawska helped ECU to a season opening sweep at the Pirate Duels defeating Barton (218-42), Gardner-Webb (207-51) and Catawba (174-87). The junior from London, England won the 100-yard butterfly (56.49) and 200-butterfly (2:04.21), while helping her squad to second place finishes in the 200-yard medley relay (1:46/45) and the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:36.41).

Kalawska and the Pirates return to the pool on Friday, Oct. 25 hosting Campbell inside Minges Natatorium. ECU's diving team will open its season on Friday, Oct. 18 hosting NC State.
