Boca Raton, Fla. – The East Carolina softball team is set to resume American Athletic Conference play this weekend when the Pirates visit Florida Atlantic for a three-game series at FAU Softball Stadium beginning on Thursday at 6 p.m.

All three games will be streamed via ESPN+ with Frank Forte (play-by-play) and Natalie Kalibat (analyst) on the call.

Emma Jackson leads the Pirates at the plate, batting .429 and tallying 48 hits (1st in AAC/t-7th in NCAA) along with 20 doubles (1st in AAC/1st in NCAA). Morgan Johnson leads the American and is tied for 20th in the country in RBI with 38. Johnson has reached base in 25 consecutive games. Anna Sawyer is batting .396 with 12 doubles and 19 RBI. ECU is currently first in the AAC in batting average (.330), hits (282), and doubles (65). Taylor Apple leads ECU in the circle with a 1.98 ERA and 71 strikeouts to go along with five complete games while Jordan Hatch has a 10-4 record with 43 strikeouts.

The Pirates are coming off a 9-1 win in six innings against Elon on Tuesday, highlighted by Sawyer's first home run of the season in the fourth inning, to improve to 24-9 on the season. ECU recorded its 14th game of the season with 10 or more hits as the Pirates tallied 10 on the day.

Florida Atlantic enters this weekend's contest ranked 25th in Softball America's latest poll while receiving votes in the ESPN.com/USA Today and NFCA Coaches poll. FAU is currently on an eight-game winning streak after defeating Stetson 3-2 in midweek action on the road. The Owls have outscored their opponent by a combined run total of 40-5 in the past four games. Jesiana Mora leads FAU's offense with a batting average of .418 and Kiley Channell has hit a team-high 15 doubles. Trinity Schlotterbeck is a two-way threat in the circle and at the plate for the Owls, hitting .325 with a team-leading seven home runs to go along with a 13-2 record in the circle and a 2.18 ERA. FAU holds an 8-1 record in AAC play and has won nine of its last 10 games played at home.
