Pirates Shut Down At North Texas, 2-0

Denton, Texas – The East Carolina softball team dropped its second straight game on Saturday evening as the Pirates fell to North Texas 2-0 at Lovelace Stadium.

It was another tough game at the plate for the Pirates (21-4, 0-2 AAC), who were shut out for the second consecutive game. Emma Jackson, Anna Sawyer and Morgan Johnson each tallied a hit in the loss.

North Texas plated its two runs in the bottom of the third, the first on an RBI single from Jodie Epperson and then scoring its second on a sacrifice fly from Kailey Gamble to score Epperson.

Addy Bullis (6-1) took her first loss in the circle this season, giving up three hits and two earned runs. Skylar Savage (2-4) tossed six strikeouts and gave up three hits as it was the second straight game that a Mean Green pitcher had a complete game shutout.
