Last Time Out
The Pirates weathered an early goal to come back and defeat UNC Greensboro by a goal on Thursday night. Sydney Schnell struck a first-half tally from distance and Emma Sheehan scored late to push the Pirates over the top. The goal was each player's first of the season and Sheehan's first ever in Johnson Stadium. Maeve English made three saves in the second half on her way to the victory.

Scouting Campbell
The Camels look like an improved side to this point on the season with their 1-1-1 record, including a signature win over NC State at home last time out. Alyssa Tucker and Sierra Vance scored the goals in the game as the team held on for victory. For the season, four players have scored goals for the Camels with Kaleigh Backlund leading the way at two tallies thus far. Anaïs van Doesburg and Sierra Vance have been splitting time in goal with seven combined saves so far.
Â
Series History
The Pirates and Camels have a long history going back to the Pirates very first season as a varsity side in 1994. ECU holds a 14-4-1 edge over the years, including a hard-earned 1-0 result a season ago. Lucy Fazackerley scored the lone goal in that one, played in Buies Creek. Maeve English made a trio of assists in the result and Catherine Holbrook tallied the helper on the goal.
Â
An Opportunity
With the win over UNC Greensboro, the Pirates move to 2-0 for the first time since 2017 and just the seventh time in program history—2017, 2009, 2008, 2002, 1998, 1996. The Pirates have started the season 3-0 just four times ever.
