Last Time Out
The Pirates did battle with Charlotte in a match which lived up to the billing. A back-and-forth affair saw the Pirates twice jump out to a lead and twice the 49ers found an equalizer. Mackenzie Smith was brilliant in the game, assisting on both goals off of well-placed corner kicks. The first took a deflection from Abby Sowa and wound up with Sydney Schnell who finished with confidence. The second was taken by Sowa herself, a header to the far post.
Scouting North Texas
The Mean Green enter Sunday riding a nine-game unbeaten streak and as the lone 3-0 team in American Athletic Conference Play since starting their season 0-2. With it, they bring a prolific offense to Greenville. Averaging 25.5 shots per game, the team has put up 31 goals on the season including six in a thumping of Temple last time out. While 12 players have scored goals on the season with seven scoring multiple, Rachel Roebuck and Claire Niedermeier have done the majority of the work with a whopping seven goals apiece on the season. Niedermeier has also contributed five assists on the season, just behind team-leading Alexis Miller's seven. In goal, Maddie Ogden is still the Mean Green's primary keeper and has allowed just six goals so far on the season as the team has posted seven total shutouts.
Series History
The Pirates and Mean Green met for the first time last season and it was a thriller. After falling behind 2-0 in the first half, the Pirates roared back with goals from Samantha Moxie and Abby Sowa who finished a late penalty to steal the draw. The Pirates nearly managed to snatch a victory in the game with two good attempts at goal in the final 10 minutes.
Iron Woman

Iron Women II
Annabelle Abbott, with her latest start, entered the program ranks at 10th in ECU history in career starts at 75. Maeve English now has 77 career starts and remains on pace to break the program record for career starts (Madison Keller, 82 - consecutively).
Mackenzie Smith!
The sophomore midfielder had a breakout game on Thursday with a pair of assists coming from two beautiful corner kicks. Smith is the first Pirate with two assists in a game since Lindsey Aiken did so on Sept. 15, 2022 in the team's win at No. 19 SMU.
