Abrielle Schweitzer Wins Dill Family Foundation Invitational

GREENVILLE, N.C. –Abrielle Schweitzer earned her first career individual win at the Dill Family Foundation Invitational on Friday morning at Overton's Lake Kristi. The junior paced four ECU athletes to top-10 individual finishes and the women to a second-place team result. The ECU men finished fifth.
Schweitzer was joined in the top five by Kaylee McCullough who raced to a third-place finish in 21:21.23 over 6K while Katrina Ford also finished in the top 10 in eighth overall. Bella Wood (16th) and Kiley Mann (20th) rounded out the scoring lineup.
The Pirate women finished second in the meet with 36 points, just behind Davidson's 28 points.
On the men's side, Alex Sawyer paced the group with the lone top-10 finish in eighth place in 24:35.64 over the 8K course. Sawyer was joined by Judah Lacroix (23rd), Will Palopoli (48th), Elliott Kleckner (49th) and Aidan Herman (70th) in the ECU lineup.
The men's group finished fifth with 139 points. High Point took the win with 39 points.
