
Zuniga and Hernandez Sweep American Conference Weekly Diving Honors

IRVING, Texas – East Carolina redshirt senior Frida Zuniga and freshman Romina Hernandez have been named the American Conference Diving Athlete of the Week and Freshman Diving Athlete of the Week respectively according to an announcement from the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

Zuniga earns her eighth career diving athlete of the week honor after finishing first in the 1-meter at Duke and at Liberty with respective scores of 301.10 and 264.55. She also placed first in the 3-meter at Liberty with a final score of 279.95 and placed second in the 3-meter at Duke with a score of 292.45. Both of Zuniga's marks at the Duke meet are NCAA Zone Diving qualifying scores.

Hernandez comes off two strong weeks to start the season and her collegiate career, finishing second in the 1-meter at Liberty with a final score of 233.45 and placing third in the 3-meter at Duke with a score of 273.30.
