GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina softball team is set to return to Max R. Joyner Family Stadium this weekend as the Pirates host Tulsa for their home American Athletic Conference series opener.
First pitch for Friday is slated for 5 p.m. and the game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Patrick Johnson (play-by-play) and Courtney Layton (analyst) on the call.Â
East Carolina (15-8, 3-0 AAC) is coming off an 11-5 loss at NC State on Tuesday that snapped the Pirates' five-game winning streak.
Kanisha Anderson leads the Pirates at the plate with her .457 batting average in 23 games played and Emma Jackson, Morgan Johnson and Annie Kate Dalton have combined for 21 of the team's 30 home runs, which leads the AAC. Kendall Frost and Taylor Apple have combined for 35 appearances and 105 strikeouts in the circle.
Scouting the Golden Hurricane
Tulsa (12-12) is coming off a 10-2 loss in five innings to No. 1 Oklahoma on Wednesday. Claira Skaggs leads Tulsa at the plate with a .365 batting average and Maura Moore leads the team in the circle with a 3.61 ERA.
