GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina soccer team is back on the road at 4 p.m. on Sunday as they travel south for a contest with the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. The game will be available for streaming on ESPN+.
What's at Stake
The Pirates will look to extend their unbeaten streak to three and to avenge a disappointing draw with the Chanticleers a season ago. The team earned an impressive 1-0 win on the road at App State on Thursday with Alyssa Tucker breaking through for her first goal as a Pirate with an assist from Caitlen-Star Dolan Boodram. Olivia Dietrich, despite only being asked to make one save, had a solid game in goal as she earned her first complete-game shutout in Purple and Gold, playing the full 90 for the fifth time this season. A victory would also push ECU over .500 for the first time this season.

Scouting Coastal Carolina
The Chanticleers enter the contest with a 2-3 record on the season after taking a 1-0 victory over Campbell on Thursday. Dolcie O'Connor scored the game winning goal in that contest, her team-high second goal of the year for a team which has only managed three goals on the season. Aris Lamanna has played every minute of goal through five games, only allowing five goals with a .815 save percentage for what has been a very stout defense despite Coastal's offensive struggles.
Â
Series History
The Pirates and Chanticleers battled to a scoreless draw a season ago in which the teams combined for only four shots on goal. That contest was just the third in the all-time series dating back to 2008 which has resulted in a 1-0-2 edge for Coastal Carolina. The lone decisive match was the first in 2008 a 2-1 contest in Greenville. Madison Keller scored ECU's only goal in the loss as Coastal got scores from Emily McColl and Ashleigh Gunning.

Not Superstitious, but A Little Stitious     Â
For the fans who worry about that kind of thing, the Pirates' record by uniform color: Purple: 1-1-0 | White: 0-1-2 | Black: 1-0-0
Â
The Woman in Charge
After seven seasons as an assistant, Emily Buccilla takes the reins as head coach in 2025. She is the first female head coach in program history.
Â
Home Sweet Home
The Pirates play their home contests in one of the most beautiful soccer facilities in Division I in Bill Clark Homes Field at Johnson Stadium. Recently outfitted with a new scoreboard and state-of-the-art LED lighting, the venue is a great place to watch a game whether it's an early season matinee or a conference thriller under the lights. Pirate Nation has played their part of late, too. Five of the top 10 attended games in program history have come since head coach Emily Buccilla arrived in Greenville with three coming in just the past three seasons, including the all-time record of 1,335 attendees when the Pirates hosted then-No. 2 Duke in 2022.
