Pirates Split Final Day Of Battle At The Max

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina softball team split its two games on the final day of the Battle at the Max, defeating St. John's 2-1 and falling to Campbell 9-4 on Sunday afternoon at Max R. Joyner Family Stadium.
Kanisha Anderson had another two-hit game in the Pirates' win over the Red Storm, as ECU (14-8) rallied once again with two runs in the bottom of the fifth to pick up the win.Â
Julia Apostolakos (7-4) picked up the complete game win with four strikeouts.
Campbell jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the top of the first but ECU rallied to pull within a run after Trinity Nichols' sac fly scored Anna Sawyer in the bottom of the third.Â
The Fighting Camels tacked on two runs in the both the fifth and sixth innings to put the game out of reach as ECU was unable to get a hit in the final three innings.

East Carolina travels to Campbell on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
