Boca Raton, Fla. – The East Carolina softball team looks to build off of its series win over Wichita State last weekend as the Pirates are set to travel to Boca Raton to face Florida Atlantic to continue American Conference play.
The series opener on Friday is set for a 6 p.m. first pitch and will be streamed on ESPN+ with Frank Forte and Natalie Kalibat on the call. Saturday's contest will start at 1 p.m. with Ari Shanok and Jake Marsh calling the action on ESPN+. The series finale will take place on Sunday at noon with Forte and Kalibat on the call again.
ECU comes into the weekend off of a 3-1 week, defeating Campbell in midweek action and a series win over Wichita State at home. The Pirates dropped the series opener 14-5 but bounced back by shutting out the Shockers in the next two contests. Jenna Krol and Anna Sawyer both lead the Pirates at the plate with a .370 batting average while Kanisha Anderson is batting .353 at the plate. Sydney Rainford leads the Pirates' arms in the circle with a 2.43 ERA after recording two complete game shutouts last weekend that led to her being named the American Conference Pitcher of the Week.
Scouting the Owls
Lily Holtje (.443) is one of three Owls at the plate with a .400 or better average, followed by Yani Guzman (.432) and Bella Foran (.404). FAU has a stout staff in the circle, led by Makenna Lee (2.52 ERA, 27 Ks), Ainsley Lambert (2.60 ERA, 18 Ks) and Autumn Courtney (2.88 ERA, 53 Ks).

Florida Atlantic leads the all-time series with East Carolina 7-4 and the Owls have won the last four meetings including a series sweep last year.
