Rainford Named American Conference Pitcher Of The Week

IRVING, Texas – East Carolina freshman pitcher Sydney Rainford has been named the American Conference Pitcher of the Week according to an announcement from the league office on Monday afternoon.
Rainford's weekly honor marks the second straight season that a Pirate freshman pitcher has earned conference pitcher of the week.
The Lake Village, Ind. native was superb in her two appearances in the circle for East Carolina last week, earning two complete game shut out wins over Wichita State to help lead the Pirates to their first-ever series win against Shockers.
Rainford only allowed four hits in 12 innings while tossing three strikeouts.
East Carolina returns to action this weekend as the Pirates travel to Florida Atlantic for a weekend series with the Owls. The series starts on Friday at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
